Michigan Championships / 2010
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - At a press conference this morning, the West Michigan Sports Commission announced a new state-wide Olympic-type competition coming in 2010.
The State Games of Michigan will run from June 25-27, 2010. Amateur athletes of all ages and abilities will be invited to compete in the 3-day sports festival.
Competitions will include basketball, boxing, fencing, track & field, mountain biking and more.
The Excalibur Tournament, one of the premier fencing tournaments in the state of Michigan, continues to grow each year. The event attracts many of the top-ranked fencers from Michigan and across the Midwest. Excalibur normally occurs in March.

9:00 am Women's Foil
9:00 am Women's Saber 10:00 Mixed Epee
10:00 am Mixed Saber 1:00 Y14 Mixed Foil
12:00 pm Mixed Foil 2:30 Women's Epee
--To be held at West Michigan Fencing Academy
--Entry Fee: $30 First Event, $10 each additional event, includes t-shirt for 1st event
--Pre-registration at askfred.net ($35 if not preregistered)
--USFA membership is required and can be purchased at the event.
--Proper fencing equipment is also required.
--Refreshments will be available for purchase both days
Fees: $30 if preregistered (includes free Excalibur t-shirt)
$5 late fee if not preregistered
$10 each additional event.
Close of Registration:
Medals will be awarded to the highest finishing Y12 & Y10 fencers in the Y14 mixed foil event.
USFA membership and proper fencing attire required.
Refreshments available for purchase.
Preregistration closes on 03/27/2008 at 5:00 p.m.
