WMFA History

The West Michigan Fencing Acadmey is a non-profit 501c3 corporation run by a Board of Directors and an incredible group of volunteers. All members are welcome to attend our Board meetings. You can either call or check the monitor at the Academy for dates and times.

2008- Samamtha Nemecek earns third NCAA All-American
2007- Samantha Nemecek becomes US Junior World Championship Team Member in
Belek, Turkey and NCAA All American.
WMFA goes to Tettenang, Germany to complete our fencing exchange.
WMFA partners with the West Michigan Sports Commission to bring national fencing events to
Grand Rapids in 2010 and 2012.

2006- Mike Nemecek brings home the gold for the US at the World Cup in Bratislava, Slovakia
Silver Medalist at US National Championships.
Samantha Nemecek qualifies as a US Junior World ChampionshipTeam Member in Korea and
NCAA All American Michigan Division Champion.

2005- Mike Nemecek is named as one of the United States Junior Women's foil National coaches.
WMFA membership and class participation triples.
Samantha Nemecek becomes US Senior World Championship Team Member.
Samantha Nemecek becomes US Junior World Championship Team Member.
